Live by the sword, die by the preview. Or something like that. Anyway, check out our early look...

Blademasters will be Ripcord Games' entry in the Xbox RPG fray. And what a beautiful entry it will be.

In a time long ago when dragons ruled the land, the five elements (fire, water, earth wood and air) were fought over. Eventually, only one dragon ruled over each element. Weary after centuries of battle, these Dragon Masters rested in seclusion and man eventually became masters of the world. Peace ruled the land until holes mysteriously appeared throughout the land, and demons appeared and sent the land into war for many hard years.

A wizard named Aberhart, after awakening the dragons, vanquished the evil with the help and power of the dragons. The king of the land, Malea, married, but this was to be the same woman Aberhart was in love with. In jealousy, the wizard left the kingdom, vowing revenge upon the land.

You start the game searching for the wizard Aberhart, who has imprisoned the five Dragon Elemental Masters into separate blades.

Throughout your quest to bring peace to the land, such characters as August, the mysterious demigod, and O'lora, an Elf who may happen to have one of the five elemental blades, will join you.

Be prepared to battle villains such as Matrine, a vampire with a love of brain surgery and torture, or the Dark Elf, Raven.

While a more traditional RPG, Blademasters will feature some very impressive visuals The processing and rendering muscle of Xbox will allow much more realistically textured monsters and environments. The 3D world has become the standard for next-generation console RPGs, and Blademasters will be no exception.

It is assumed that, since the five elemental blades will be an important part of your quest, when magic comes in to play, it will be elemental based. So far, there is no word on exactly who will be able to cast spells in your party.

No publisher or release date has been announced as of yet.
