The RTS/RPG genre combination picks up steam with another game announcement. Check out our preview.
Floating Islands. Magical Artifacts. Flying machines. No, this is not the Skies of Arcadia Sequel. This is a new game from German developer Radon Labs.
You play the wizard engineer who "...has to leave his floating platform to explore the unknown realms in the clouds, conquer and pillage other islands and acquire strange artifacts." Rather than travel around in massive ships, bi-planes and zeppelins will be the methods of transportation.
The game will boast elements of both the RPG and RTS genres in a combination that seems to be becoming increasingly popular. You can also look at the Robin Hood demo for an example of such gameplay.
Xbox is able to provide the processing power that allows the developer to have realistic weather patterns, as well as unlimited level movement.
Multiplayer options are planned, with options to play competitively or cooperatively. Nomads' current plans call for support for both LAN and Internet accessibility, making it a perfect title for New Millennium Entertainment's cross-platform broadband gaming network.
